Project 15 : Cropping
Halfpenny Bridge
112mm f/5.6 1/100sec 400 ISO
Original shot
I took this shot on a rainy day in Dublin, huddled under a covered archway close to famous the Halfpenny Bridge.
I chose this crop because I wanted to get closer in on the people, removing the distracting background.
I went for a portrait crop here. I wanted to create a longer stream of pedestrians.
For this, crop I chose the unusually positioned boy as my main point of interest.
For the final crop, I wanted the two girls to be the main subject.
Steam
75mm f/5.6 1/100sec 400 ISO
Original shot
This shot was taken at the North Yorkshire railway near Goathland. I had to lean over a fence to take this shot as the train sped past.
Hull Marina
24mm f/5.6 1/30sec 100 ISO
Original shot
This is a shot at from Hull marina. I took this on my way home from work. I like this time of day when the sun is low. Some photographers call it the golden hour.
The Deep
56mm f/10.0 1/100sec 100 ISO
Original shot
This is a shot of The Deep, the world’s only submarium (apparently).
